AI & automated processing
Which Vekrin features are automated, what they can get wrong, and who processes the data.

Several Vekrin features use automated text recognition and AI models. They are there to save you typing, not to make decisions for you.
Where Vekrin uses automation
- Receipt scanning — reading a photographed or uploaded receipt and pulling out the merchant, date, total and line items.
- Invoice extraction — reading invoices and bills, including ones imported from a connected mailbox.
- Category suggestions — proposing a category for a purchase or a bill, and learning from corrections you make.
- Household Intelligence — spotting patterns such as an expiring warranty or an unusual bill, and writing them up as insights.
- Assistant — answering questions using only your own household's data.
What to check
- Automated systems make mistakes, especially with faded receipts, unusual layouts and handwriting.
- Always check extracted amounts, dates, merchants and product names before relying on them.
- Take extra care with anything you will use for insurance, tax or a claim.
- Vekrin's output is a suggestion, not an authoritative conclusion, and is not professional financial, legal or insurance advice.
- No automated decision with a legal or similarly significant effect is made about you.
How the processing happens
When you scan a receipt, import an invoice or ask the Assistant a question, the relevant content is sent through Vekrin's AI gateway provider to Google Gemini models. The providers involved are listed in the Privacy Policy. The result is stored in your household so you can review and correct it.
Your content is used to produce your result. It is not used for advertising, and it is not used by Vekrin to train generative models.
Voice and audio processing
Vekrin Voice sends the audio you speak during an active voice conversation for transcription, then answers with the same Assistant, the same household evidence and the same citations as a typed question. The written answer appears first, and the spoken reply is that same answer read aloud — there is no separate, hidden voice answer.
Raw voice recordings are not stored by Vekrin. Audio is processed for the request; your conversation history keeps the text transcript and the answer. Voice runs only while you have a conversation open, and there is no wake word or background microphone. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy under “Voice and audio processing”.
Staying in control
Automated features only run on the receipts, invoices, mailbox and questions you give them. You can edit or delete any extracted record, and you can use Vekrin entirely by hand if you prefer.
